Update Painting Fire Hydrants
It was reported by DDA Director Berry that the fire hydrants are painted only upon request of the Township Board, that when painted you can use color coding to indicate the size of the water main below each individual hydrant, the cost is covered by the sewer and water fund, and that there are approximately 300 fire hydrants in the DDA area and approximately 1000 to 1200 outside of the DDA area. An assessment will be made and additional information brought back to the next DDA meeting.
Environmental Assessment Update
Asti Environmental is working on the environmental assessment and it is estimated that it will be ready for submittal to MDOT and RCOC within the next two weeks.

|
The engineers are still working on the environmental assessment and are coordinating with Asti on this project. The main focus at this time is the floristic study portion of the assessment which is nearing completion. The floristic report is a separate study from the environmental assessment, but related, and will indicate what plants in the wet lands and uplands in Section 24 need to be protected.
Additionally, the Pontiac Trail project plans have been submitted to the RCOC. It is anticipated that the project will be completed next year and possibly the RCOC will donate the engineering for this project.
The Welch Road Project is complete.
