Item 3: Director’s Report
|
Painting Fire Hydrants
DDA Director Berry requested discussion on the painting of fire hydrants within the DDA district with non-oxidizing paint and night reflection paint at the DDA’s expense.
MOTION by Lublin, second by Thomas, to paint the Fire Hydrants in the DDA area with non-oxidizing reflective paint.
Discussion: Participation by the Township for the remaining fire hydrants; Project cost.
Motion and support withdrawn.
Director Berry will bring additional information regarding this project back to the next DDA meeting.
M-5 Roadway Maintenance
This issue will be discussed with the Road Commission for Oakland County. Financial assistance from the DDA could be possible. All agreed that discussion with the bordering cities and the State as to the cost, maintenance procedures, and funding along M-5 is necessary.
Improvement to Township Entry Signs
The new Commerce Township entry signage needs to stand out more, possibly larger signage and lighting for increased visibility. There was discussion of the height off the ground and visibility from both sides of the sign.
Environmental Assessment
The engineers are still working on the Environmental Assessment, in particular the traffic and floristic study portions of the Assessment. The storm water management portion of the study is almost complete.
|
|
The Haggerty Road traffic report still must be completed, including the round-about issues.
Martin Road/Section 24 is GWE’s major area of concentration at the present time, especially design and storm water management issues. There has been a meeting with the Road Commission staff concerning the private road issues in Pinewood Industrial Subdivision.
Pontiac Trail – Design is done and into the Road Commission for review and comment. Still to be obtained are the Rights of Way for the project.
Fourteen/Fifteen Mile Road at Haggerty Road – GWE has been told by the Road Commission that round-abouts are still being planned at those intersections.
