Approval of the Minutes

March 14, 2006, Minutes

MOTION by Thomas, second by Gotts, to approve the minutes of the March 14, 2006, Regular Meeting as presented.

Treasurer’s Report for March 2006

MOTION by Zoner, second by Gotts, to approve the Consent Agenda.

Item 3: Director’s Report

Bid Proposals for Barrier Gate on Maple Road Property

MOTION by Thomas, second by Gotts, to approve the DDA Director’s recommendation to award the contract for the barrier gate on the Maple Road Property to the lowest bid from Upright Fence, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,250.

MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

Fifth Amended Plan

DDA Attorney addressed the changes made to the Fifth Amended Plan and noted that a Calendar/Timeline has been included in their agenda package relative to the Fifth Amended Plan. It was noted that the changes made to the Fifth Amended Plan were revenue neutral and only a correction to the legal description.

Item 4:  Engineers Update

The DDA and the Engineers have met with the Taubman Company regarding commercial development in the project area.

Giffels Webster has done engineering work focusing on Martin Road and has completed the vertical alignment. A new cost estimate will be done and given to the DDA Director.

M-5 and Welch Road plans are at the Road Commission for Oakland County for review. Easement documents are being prepared and construction may commence this year. Haggerty Road plans are progressing. Restoration at the Welch Road project should commence in the next 30 to 45 days.

Item 6:  Planning Director's Report

The Planning Commission has approved the Wal-Mart Super Center as well as a Veterinary Clinic on Welch Road. In addition there are three pending project in the DDA area.

Not required at this meeting

Item 8:  Other Matters

Robert Yellan, President of Huron Valley Sinai Hospital, was present and addressed the DDA regarding concerns relating to the sale of property to Beaumont Hospital. Documentation was presented to the Board.

MOTION by Thomas, second by Motz, to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 12:55 p.m.
