Sandra Abrams – Secretary

Sandra Abrams has been a Commerce Township resident for nearly 30 years and serves the community not only through involvement with the Downtown Development Authority, but also as the Commerce Township Clerk.

Sandra began working for the township in 1988 as a planning aide and was appointed deputy clerk in 1996. She was elected clerk both in 1996 and 2000. She is a certified municipal clerk and holds an associate’s degree in office information systems/management.

Sandra is a member of many community organizations including: Commerce Community Breakfast Committee; Commerce Community Center Committee; Women’s Officials Network; Oakland County Elections Scheduling Committee; Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce; Oakland County Clerks Association; Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks; National Association of Parliamentarians; and International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

In 2003, Sandra was named Township Clerk of the Year.
