Jim Gotts — Chair

Jim Gotts is extremely committed to his community and his involvement proves it. In addition to being a Commerce Township Downtown Development Authority member, Jim is involved in eight other community organizations, some for almost 20 years.

These titles and organizations include: trustee and grant committee director for the Foundation for Excellence of Walled Lake Schools; chairman of the Commerce Township Planning Commission for 17 years; charter director of the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce; founder and charter chairperson of Union Lakes Action Committee; charter chairperson of Lakes Area Ducks Unlimited; founding director of the Union Lake Optimist Club; board member of Edgewood Country Club; and football coach for Walled Lake Consolidated Schools for 15 years.

Jim is now the Director of Risk Management for the Ralph C. Wilson Agency, Inc. after selling his company, Lakeland Underwriters, where was president and CEO for more than 30 years, to them. He is also currently the President and CEO of Medical Record Access, a company providing affordable, innovative benefits.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree from UCLA and a master of business administration degree from Michigan State University. He is a member of a number of professional organizations including: Oakland Executive Association and the Detroit Athletic Club.

Jim has three children and three grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys golf and boating.
